Next we're going to take a look to see how many people clicked on the ads you entered. We're also going to log in to ClickBank to see if you've made a sale. It's unlikely given that you only have five ad groups so far, but maybe you were fortunate.
Step 1. Go the Google AdWords login page, enter your name & password. Now click on 'Campaign #1'. Be sure the pull down box on the right says 'all time'. Then click on 'cost'. This will sort your ad groups so the ones you have spent the most on appear on top. If any ad group has cost you more than $5, click on the ad group name and take a closer look. If not, come back tomorrow and look again.
Step 2. Now go to the ClickBank login page. Enter your name & password. The amount of money for you at this point is probably low. In most cases, you will need more ads online to see bigger results. When you have a lot of ads online you will find that some your links (hoplink's) are profitable and others are less so.
If you have any sales, click on 'Reporting' if you want to see more details.
Step 3. My rule of thumb is once an ad group has cost me $5 I look to see if it has made me any money. If it hasn't made me at least $10, I pause it and move on to the next. Over time you will pause a lot of ads, and you will be left with only profitable ads (that's a good thing.) So if any of your ads fit this criteria, cut them loose (pause them) now. Don't get "attached" to your ads - . There are exceptions to the rule - if the commission is $100 per sale, I would likely give it more of a chance.
You need to realize that your success will come from creating a lot of online ad groups - . Imagine you created 100 ad groups. If after a month you had turned off 25 of them because they weren't profitable, 75 of them hadn't reached $5 yet so you're keeping an eye on them, 9 of them made you $25 each in profit and the remaining 1 is averaging a sale every two days at $10 profit each time. That would be $375 in profit for the month. That's not too bad, right? How many times can you repeat this process? The great thing about this business is that those ad groups will probably pay a similar amount next month and the month after and...
These numbers are not uncommon. But you need to get 100 ad groups created to find the profitable ones. They probably won't be the first 10 you write. Your goal should be to create 100 ad groups. Write a goal for yourself to create a total of 100 ad groups over the next week, two weeks or month, depending on your time and desire. Then stick to it. Apply what you've learned to each ad and check daily how much you've spent on each ad group since it was created (remember, you're only concerned with the ones that have cost you $5 or more.)
Step 4. Create at least 10 new ad groups today. You can refer to steps 3 & 4b from the previous lesson if you don't remember how to create ad groups.
Now that you have more ad groups you may want to consider increasing your daily budget. To do this, log in to AdWords and click on 'Campaign #1'. Then click on 'Edit Campaign Settings'. Change your daily budget to an amount that is appropriate for you.
Don't forget: It's important to monitor your ads daily!
